Meet the High Altitude Tutoring Team

At High Altitude Tutoring, we believe the right tutor can make all the difference. Our team is patient, encouraging, and experienced in supporting students who learn differently.

Each of our tutors brings their own strengths, but all share one mission: to help students feel confident, capable, and excited about learning.

Sophie

Say bonjour to Sophie, our science whiz & language lover.

Known for her kindness, patience, and compassion, Sophie connects especially well with neurodivergent students and anyone who could use a boost in confidence. She loves helping students reach new heights in French, science, and math.

After earning her diploma in nursing in 2017, Sophie discovered a passion for teaching while mentoring new nurses and tutoring college students. She eventually traded the fast pace of Montréal’s healthcare world for the quiet beauty of Pemberton’s mountains.

A lover of books, writing, and exploring the outdoors, Sophie brings curiosity and warmth into everything she does.

Liev

Liev brings energy, creativity & heart to every lesson.

Born and raised in BC, Liev is proud to call Pemberton home. She brings a fun, flexible, and student-focused approach to every session — turning learning into an adventure! Known for her patience, clear communication, and ability to adapt lessons to each student’s needs, Liev helps learners build confidence.

TESOL-certified since 2018 and currently completing her Bachelor’s in TESOL Origins and Methods, Liev has over six years of experience working with students of all ages and backgrounds — including neurodivergent learners and young students online.

When she’s not teaching, you’ll find Liev out exploring — hiking local trails, snowboarding, playing team sports, or enjoying time with her family.

Erica

As an Education Assistant with SD48, Erica works with students with autism, ADHD, pathological demand avoidance, speech & language delays, and more. She focuses on developing self-regulation skills, supporting communication, and creating environments where students feel safe and capable.

With specialized training in Applied Behaviour Analysis and Functional Behaviour Assessment, Erica draws on her behaviour intervention skills to foster positive learning, emotional well-being, and developmental growth. She is passionate about helping each child reach their full potential.

Outside of work, Erica is a dedicated mom who loves running, golfing, and fishing with her son.

Alayna

Alayna turns homework into a confidence-boosting adventure.

Born and raised in B.C., Alayna completed her Master’s in Counselling Psychotherapy in the UK. From coaching at her university’s writing centre to working as a Child & Youth Care Worker, she brings a decade of experience supporting children and youth.

Alayna knows that academics and self-belief go hand in hand. With her counselling background, she has a gift for helping students manage stress, overcome self-doubt, and find their voice in the learning process.

Whether it’s brainstorming ideas, breaking big projects into bite-sized steps, or polishing a thesis, Alayna makes the writing process less intimidating and more fun. And if you’re more into numbers than words? She loves math and science too.

Maddy’s background is packed with experience in community programs and sports coaching, a certification in the Responsible Adult Course, and valuable hands-on experience supporting neurodivergent students. Maddy makes sure that every learner feels safe, supported, and included.

Caolan

Caolan (pronounced Key-lin) makes complex math, physics, & coding simple — and fun!

Caolan has a Master’s in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Bristol, a background in software engineering (yes, he’s even worked on government coding projects!), and a Physics Olympiad medal from Oxford.

While he has years of experience teaching complex STEM subjects, it’s Caolan’s down-to-earth, funny, and personable style that students love most.

Believing that hard work beats intelligence every time, Caolan encourages students to try, make mistakes, and persevere until things click.

His style? Part teacher, part comedian, part friend—and 100% invested in his students’ success.

Mollie

Mollie’s creative spirit brings an artistic touch to her lessons.

Born in Québec and raised in Whistler, Mollie quickly discovered that doors open when you can express yourself in more than one language.

Her experience working as a Language Specialist at La Passerelle sparked her passion for education.

Combining her background in digital marketing and creative design with her passion for lifelong learning, Mollie knows how to make sessions fun.

When she’s not teaching or creating, you’ll find Mollie soaking up Whistler’s natural beauty, on the lookout for her next source of inspiration.
