Meet the Tutors

Jayme Grieco-Hogg

From teaching at Queen’s University & classrooms in Guatemala to the slopes of Whistler Blackcomb,

Jayme’s interactions with students, teachers, & educational systems around the world have shaped her teaching style today. 

Jayme is a Queen’s University Chancellor Scholar who studied psychology & cultural-religious studies.

She started Tutoring With Jayme in 2018, an online tutoring business specializing in university admissions consulting & academic coaching.

Jayme taught while backpacking South East Asia & Central America, eventually earning her Teaching English as a Foreign Language certificate in Guatemala in 2019.

Freelancing as an editor for large North American digital marketing firms, Jayme has experience coaching professional writers & optimizing work processes.

Like many travellers, the pandemic sent Jayme out West in search of adventure, which she found tutoring in Whistler & Pemberton since settling here in 2020.

Jayme started High Altitude Tutoring in 2023 to support students in the Sea-to-Sky region by creating a positive & supportive learning environment.

Sophie

Born and raised in Montréal, Sophie is our science whiz & language lover.

Say bonjour to Sophie! After earning her diploma in nursing in 2017, Sophie quickly discovered a passion for teaching as she mentored new nurses and tutored college students.

A lover of books, writing, and exploring the beautiful outdoors, Sophie swapped the fast pace of urban healthcare for the quiet of Pemberton’s mountains. She’s excited to help students reach new heights in French, science, and math!

Karin

Karin is a Whistler local with over 25 years of French tutoring experience!

Originally from Québec, Karin’s life has been one big adventure – from graphic designer to caterer to ski instructor – but teaching French is her true love.

Having travelled and lived around the world, it’s no surprise Karin is fluent in French and English with conversational Spanish. Karin’s background in philosophy and criminology means she is as focused as she is fun.

Karin brings energy, creativity, and a love for adventure to every lesson. After class, you might find her designing, skiing, or cooking up something delicious.

Natasha

Conquer math with confidence! Natasha will help you simplify even the toughest equations.

Natasha has a knack for breaking down tricky concepts and helping students feel confident, capable, and ready to take on any challenge.

With 10 years of experience as an Education Assistant at Xet’ólacw Community School and Mount Currie’s daycare, Natasha has dedicated her career to the belief that every student can succeed with the right support.

Kathryn

With a philosophy of child-led learning through play, Kathryn specializes in early childhood reading & writing.

Kathryn is a creative educator who likes finding fun, innovative ways of teaching new things. Her kind, caring & compassionate approach ensures Kathryn’s students feel supported & understood.

Originally from England, Kathryn holds a BSc in Psychology from St Mary’s University UK and a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from UCL, UK.

Outside the classroom, she enjoys hiking, reading, running, baking, and live music.

Julie

Julie turns learning into a personalized adventure!

Through creative lessons & brain-bending challenges, Julie sparks excitement and encourages a lifetime of curiosity in even the most reluctant learners.

With over 5 years of teaching in the classroom, Julie's background in French & outdoor education influences her teaching philosophy. Nature teaches that no 2 snowflakes are the same, and Julie believes the same about her students.

Originally from Ontario, Julie finds herself in Whistler for her boundless love for the outdoors!
